Among all the futuristic technologies that air force officers will have to get used to in future, the Flyboard Air is definitely one of the most intriguing. It’s a kind of jetpack first invented in 2011 that you stand on, powered by four micro gas turbine engines and can reach up to 190km/h. In 2019, its inventor, Franky Zapata, managed to cross the English Channel on one in just 22 minutes. It seems Back to the Future Part II wasn’t that far off when it predicted we’d all be using hoverboards by 2015...
