There are many ways to fundraise, whether it’s eating a cactus, camping on each of Scotland’s 162 islands, running a marathon with a fridge strapped to your back... but in April 2020, Captain Sir Tom Moore set himself a challenge: to make 100 round trips of his garden using his Zimmer frame, hoping to complete the challenge in time for his one hundredth birthday. In just a few weeks, he raised over £32 million for the NHS as he captured the hearts of the nation during the first COVID lockdown.
