A standout feature of working at WSA is the culture and strong support network

Intro to the graduates

In this article, you will meet Pratyush Khanra and Stefania Gallone, who both joined the WS Audiology (WSA) Graduate Program in September 2023 as part of the Business track. Enjoy their insights, reflections and advice on being a WSA graduate and rotating between functions throughout the two-year program.

Pratyush holds a Bachelor’s degree from India and a Master’s in Business Administration and Innovation in Healthcare from Copenhagen Business School (CBS) in Denmark. He worked as a Student Assistant at WSA while studying and is now in his second rotation within Global Marketing.

Stefania holds a Bachelor’s degree from Italy and a Master’s in International Business from CBS. Before joining WSA, she gained experience as an Operations Assistant and Project Manager at a market research startup. She is currently in her second rotation within Corporate Finance.

Why did they join the WSA Graduate Program?

The opportunity to work in an impactful industry was a key factor in their decision to join WSA. “WSA’s commitment to breaking barriers, delivering Wonderful Sound for All, and its passion for creating positive impact deeply resonated with me,” Stefania explains. Pratyush adds, “There is a sense of personal fulfilment in knowing that our work helps people improve their lives.”

Having worked as a Student Assistant at WSA, Pratyush was eager to expand his knowledge of the business and saw the graduate program as “an excellent opportunity to collaborate with different functions and managers while growing both professionally and personally.”

Stefania was driven by a desire to explore different business functions before deciding on a career path. “Having witnessed firsthand the life-changing impact that hearing aids can make, gave me a deep sense of fulfilment. I knew I wanted to be part of a company that shared this mission,” she reflects.

Biggest highlight of being a WSA graduate so far?

Both Pratyush and Stefania reflect positively on the program’s highlights, particularly the hands-on experience and collaboration opportunities. For Pratyush, the responsibility given to graduates from the start stands out: “You are trusted to work on important projects alongside experienced professionals, and your input is valued, which is motivating and rewarding.”

Stefania emphasizes the chance to collaborate with stakeholders across departments and interact with senior stakeholders as a major advantage. “The exposure to different perspectives, combined with the support of colleagues, has fuelled my passion for learning and helped me step outside of my comfort zone.”

What has surprised you the most about working at WSA?

A standout feature of working at WSA is the culture and strong support network. Both graduates mention the consistent help they have received from their managers and colleagues. “Whenever I face challenges, I can always count on expert advice and assistance from colleagues and managers,” Pratyush says. Stefania adds, “The collaborative and inclusive environment at WSA fosters a positive atmosphere that energizes and motivates me to make a difference.”

Biggest challenge you have had to overcome as a graduate so far?

The steep learning curve and transitions between rotations have been challenging. Stefania notes that the early stages of each rotation can be overwhelming: “You often have more questions than answers in the beginning, but over time, you gain confidence and independence. Looking back, I truly appreciate how far I’ve come.”

For Pratyush, adjusting to different functions was somewhat challenging, but he views it as a valuable growth opportunity: “Each rotation brings a new team dynamic and set of learnings, and it has helped me be adaptable to constantly changing situations.”

What is your best advice to applicants considering the program?

When offering advice to future applicants, both emphasize the value of maintaining a positive and collaborative mindset. Stefania says: “Stay curious, approach challenges with a positive attitude, and remember that support from colleagues and fellow graduates is always available.” Pratyush adds, “Adopt a collaborative mindset and take time to reflect on your motivation for applying.”

Ultimately, they both agree that the WSA Graduate Program is an exceptional opportunity for those looking to explore different career paths while contributing to a company with a meaningful purpose.
