Our Story - Introducing EPE
Robert Gordon University has a long standing reputation for it’s high success in graduate employability. From the way our courses are designed to be hands on and practical, to the state-of-the-art facilities and technology available to students, to the professional careers and placement support provided, these have meant that RGU has regularly been number 1 in Scotland for graduate employability.
Before 2017, employability support across RGU was delivered by a variety of different teams including: careers centre, Design and Technology placements office, Aberdeen Business School placements office, study abroad and exchanges team, Global Engagement Centre, Talent Exchange team as well as academic departments and schools.
In 2017/18, the university looked to build upon the Employabilty Plus strategy, and create a central university department to deliver employability services, and create enhancements to benefit the student and university community. The Employability and Professional Enrichment Hub (EPE) was created with the teams relocated to Level Three of the Ishbel Gordon Building.
Employability now has five main teams:
- Careers
- Placements
- Study Abroad
- Information and Communication
- Employer Engagement
As a team we are passionate about developing students skills and professional development and through linking our offerings we can give students a more complete journey in planning their future career.
Employability Framework: This has been developed to highlight the broad student experience and how skills and experience are gained, and through these opportunities students develop key graduate outcomes.
