Barilla ranks as the first food company in the world for reputation in the 2024 Global RepTrak® 100

Barilla Group, the world-renowned Italian food company, is proud to announce its significant rise in the Global RepTrak® 100 rankings, emerging as the leading company in the food sector and securing the 29th position worldwide. This achievement underscores Barilla's steadfast commitment to excellence, innovation, and sustainability across its operations, as well as a great attention to the local community where the Group operates.

In 2023, Barilla Group embarked on a transformative journey, marked by substantial investments in production capacity, operational efficiency, and environmental sustainability. With a €1 billion of investmentover the next five years, these efforts included expansions in manufacturing facilities, such as the Italian Sauce plant in Rubbiano (Parma), the Celle plant in Germany, and significant upgrades in packaging and production lines across various locations worldwide. Some examples are the photovoltaic systems installed in the Rubbiano facility, recognized as Europe's largest sauce factory, and a new 690KW photovoltaic system in the Durum Wheat Mill in Volos, Greece, furthering the Group’s commitment to renewable energy.

Moreover, Barilla Group investments are setting a new standard for transparent and quality choices in the food industry by leveraging cutting-edge technology. In June 2023, Barilla Group introduced in Italy a new QR code feature on their pesto jars providing consumers with unparalleled visibility into the production process thanks to blockchain traceability system. Since 2010, the company has also reformulated 491 products and introduced 40 new products with an improved nutritional profile exemplifying its dedication to providing consumers options responding to different dietary needs: products with no added sugar, rich in fibre, wholewheat, with legumes or nuts, or in single-serve packs.

Operating in over 100 countries and 29 production sites
, Barilla Group is committed to fostering inclusivity and diversity both within its organization and throughout its global supply chain. By championing gender equality, for example by eliminating the unjustified gender pay gap, and supporting minority-owned businesses, the company is driving positive change and creating a more inclusive work environment for all. In 2018, the Group launched a Global Supplier Diversity Program to drive cultural change within its supply chain while on January 1st, 2024, it implemented a new parental leave policy, offering 12 weeks of fully paid leave to each parent, regardless of gender or marital status.
