In 1946, Yugoslavia bought a splendid building in Manhattan to house its embassy. But since 1992 and the wars in Yugoslavia, which saw the former nation divided up, this little manor – with almost 2,000m² of space – has been jointly owned by five countries: Bosnia, Croatia, Macedonia, Serbia and Slovenia. And if the property ever ends up on the market, all five countries will have to agree to the terms of sale before it can be finalised...
