The Zeitz Museum of Contemporary Art Africa first opened its doors in Cape Town in 2017. It was built by redesigning and renovating a gigantic 57m-tall grain silo. The architects wanted to preserve the industrial heritage of the area, so they decided to cut up and excavate 42 of the silo’s concrete cylinders to create numerous galleries and a vast central atrium. The results are certainly impressive: the space, volume, height... the interior is simply unique!
