Recap intern onboarding day - September 2023
Recap: Intern Onboarding Day September! Every year we have two batches of interns starting their internship at Heineken, in September and in February. We always kick off this period during an onboarding day in the Heineken Experience. This day is intended to introduce the students to their fellow interns and to Heineken as a company. We do this through various speakers, cases and of course a tour of the Heineken Experience. I would like to take you through our last onboarding day on September 4! Every six months about 100 interns start at Heineken, everyone receives an invitation to attend the onboarding day.Upon arrival at the Heineken expierience, students can get to know their fellow interns over a coffee. Slowly everyone streams in. After a fun icebreaker, our HR manager was given the floor. She took the interns through her own career within Heineken and gave a presentation on Heineken's strategy, mission, vision and goals. Campus Recruitment takes over and told the interns all about the systems, processes and gave valuable tips for a successful internship period. One of the highlights of the day is the presentation by the Global Social Media Team. They explain how they ensure that employees become true ambassadors for the brand. The interns are inspired not only to be part of the team, but also to become active contributors to the brand image. In addition to the presentations, there is also plenty of time to get to know your fellow interns through interactive assignments. In groups, the interns came up with and pitched an idea for a new Heineken product. A nice prize was waiting for the group with the best idea! After lunch, all interns were given a tour of the Heineken Experience. Here they are immersed in the history of their new internship and learn all about the brewing process. After the tour there was of course time for a beer on the roof terrace! The onboarding day is not only an introduction to the company, but also a first introduction to the culture within Heineken. We think it is important that this day makes it easier for the interns to find their way within Heineken and know who their fellow interns are. All in all, this onboarding day was successful!
