  • Make a difference: Dow’s global volunteering culture

Volunteering at Dow isn’t just about giving back it’s about growing forward and creating positive change isn’t limited to the lab or office it’s a global movement. Through its Global Citizenship strategy, Dow empowers employees worldwide to give back to their communities. And here’s the best part: every employee gets one paid day off per year to volunteer. One day, big Impact Whether you're in Belgium, Italy, South Africa, or the Netherlands, Dow encourages you to take a day to support a cause close to your heart. From mentoring students and organizing STEM workshops to environmental cleanups and food bank support, this initiative is designed to make volunteering accessible and meaningful. Volunteering Across EMEAI In the Europe, Middle East, Africa, and India (EMEAI) region, Dow employees are actively involved in local projects that reflect the needs of their communities. Examples include: STEM outreach in schools across Terneuzen and Seneffe Beach cleanups and biodiversity projects in coastal areas Support for refugee integration and youth empowerment programs Partnerships with local NGOs and universities to drive sustainability These efforts are part of a broader global impact Dow employees have logged over 1.3 million volunteer hours since 2005, and 77% of employees globally reported volunteering at least once in the past year. As a student or intern, you’ll have the chance to step outside your usual role and contribute to something bigger than yourself. Many interns in EMEAI say their volunteer day was a highlight of their Dow experience whether they were teaching coding to kids, helping with environmental cleanups, or organizing donation drives. • Appreciation that builds futures

Every day, across teams, sites, time zones, and languages, our colleagues show up for one another through collaboration, mentorship, trust, and support. Regardless of the language we speak, these moments of recognition, big or small, create an environment where people feel valued and empowered to grow. This March, as we mark Employee Appreciation Day and International Women’s Day, we celebrate the power of giving to gain. When we give our time, encouragement, knowledge, or confidence, we help others move forward, and together, we build stronger workplaces, communities, and futures, without language ever being a barrier. So today, we invite you to pause and reflect: What can you give to help someone else gain? And while you’re at it, take a moment to recognize someone who inspires you. A colleague, a mentor, a teammate. Appreciation matters, and it’s even more powerful when it’s shared.
