KPMG undergraduate opportunities allow you to gain experience before you even graduate, giving you a distinct edge over other job applicants later on.

KPMG undergraduate opportunities – supercharge your graduate job application

If you’re nearing the end of your degree and thinking about what to do next, getting an undergraduate work placement or summer job will bolster your CV and help you try out a job or company before committing. KPMG has programmes specifically tailored for undergraduates in their penultimate year of uni, which means you’ll get the maximum support and gain broad work experience. Play your cards right, and you may even be offered a permanent graduate job afterwards…

What does KPMG do?

The biggest professional services firms on the globe are referred to as the “Big 4”, and KPMG is one of them. It has some seriously prestigious clients from the world of sport, transport, technology, finance and beyond. Supporting companies with consulting, auditing, tax advisory, technology services and more, KPMG is divided into six business areas:

  • Audit
  • Consulting
  • Deal Advisory
  • Tax & Law
  • Technology & Engineering
  • KPMG Business Services

Summer internships

KPMG’s four-week vacation programmes give you experience in one of five areas: Audit, Deal Advisory, Law, Mergers & Acquisitions, and Tax. You’ll get an in-depth insight into the business practices of the segment you’re in and work on real client projects alongside passionate and experienced experts.

One-year business placement: tax specialism

Are you interested in tax and accountancy and want to see if it’ll be the right fit for you or maybe get a head start in your career? You can learn a lot in a year and a year-long work placement can enhance not only your CV and professional knowledge, but also teach you skills that will help you succeed in your final year of uni. You may be allocated to one of three teams within the Tax business area at KPMG: Global Mobility Services (GMS) Technology, Tax Capital Allowances, or Tax R&D Incentives. This means you’ll not only get to specialise, but also work within a supportive and inspiring team of professionals. You’ll make contacts and pick up skills that’ll stand you in excellent stead after you graduate.

KPMG Insight programmes

KPMG wants to invest in diversity and, as a result, has founded Insight programmes to support curious, ambitious people from under-represented backgrounds in exploring their interest in a career in professional services over two days of activities. Open to undergraduates in their final year and graduates, the programmes are available in Tax, Audit, Deal Advisory, Consulting, and Technology & Engineering. The target groups of the Insight programmes are Black Heritage Talent, Women, and Social Mobility Talent.
