Lidl careers for young professionals
Lidl is a German supermarket chain that prides itself on excellence in customer service and fair prices. It operates around 12,000 stores across Europe and employs over 25,000 people in the UK alone. With more than 50 apprenticeship programmes spanning all areas of the business, it’s a great place to get qualifications in a subject that interests you while also gaining work experience and earning money.
What does a Lidl apprenticeship involve?
Apprenticeships are offered at store-level, at the regional distribution centres/offices and Head Office. From Level 2 foundation qualifications all the way through to Level 7 degrees (Master’s) in a wide variety of specialisms, you’ll have the opportunity to gain professional credentials in an area that interests you, to a level that suits you. This is also a smart way of gaining a degree (Lidl has Bachelor’s programmes too!) without the student debt – all while earning a salary!
Lidl apprenticeships are added onto an existing role at the company, so you’ll need to apply for available Lidl jobs first and then apply for the relevant apprenticeship once you’ve been working at Lidl for a minimum of 3 months. During the recruitment process, there’s nothing wrong with being open about wanting to do an apprenticeship and gain formal qualifications: it shows a willingness and desire to develop and learn!
